The dreaded BPS, the worst nightmare of many an author and Uni student.
I am not, usually, a sufferer of the much-feared “Blank Page Syndrome”. Normally, I have something that needs to be written and I can do it. However, this whole photography blog gig has me running for the hills.
I can shoot (I think), but what do I say about it? I am not a famous photographer; hell, a rank and file worker bee would be an apt description. So who cares what I have to say? I don’t get given free cameras or lenses to play with and give a review. I am in no position to claim to be an expert and teach. So that is my rub, I have a blog and nothing worth saying (yet). Ninety-nine would you believe I have a fool-proof plan? No?… Ahh, A good idea? No? How about a rather interesting notion? Ahhh, a garbled thought? Sorry, slipped into Maxwell Smart mode there for a minute.
Basically, this blog will fall into three (main) categories: 1) a traditional blog about my journey into travel and wildlife photography; 2) descriptions of my image galleries – the what, where, when and why; and 3) things that I have learnt and may be of some use to others, not teaching as much as sharing information.
The descriptions of the galleries will – be the fun and enjoyable part. This is where I will talk about my trips, experiences and how I managed to be in some of these locations. This is the part that inspired me to described my site as Images of Infinite Wonder. I have been lucky enough to travel the world and I do think it is beautiful and full of wonder. I don’t shoot ugly – Anger, Pain, Fear, Aggression– but only things I find picturesque. Warning: I do randomly quote TV shows and movies. Get used to it and considerate it a game and see if you can pick them – Challenge Accepted!
They say to put it out there and the Universe will provide. I am not sure if I believe this but I know I have nothing to lose. I have had an amazing career and life that has allowed me to travel extensively, but the part I always enjoyed most was getting out there with my camera (which was called Lucille and now Winona….Yes, I named them and yes, they too are pop-culture references). So I am putting it out there Universe – I would like to evolve into a professional Travel and Wildlife Photographer…..
I hope you will agree that we live in a world full of Infinite Wonder and like my photos. So, sit back, enjoy my images and read my forthcoming blogs- I recommend drinking heavily first.
